When autoprogressing, the viewer needs to know how long a measure takes to be played. This entered in the musicmanager by entering tempo markers.
The enter a tempo mark, click on the barline to the left of the measure where a tempo change happens. If this is on the beginning of a staff line, right clikck on the left of the staff line.

A small dialog will pop up[ allowing you to enter three pieces fo information:

- A text describing the tempo. This is optional, and is only used to be displayed on the navigation area in the viewer.
- Beats per measure. For a march this will typically be two, for a waltz three, etc.
- Beats per second
For autoprogress to work, it is mandatory that a tempo mark with number of beats per measure and number of beats per second is entered at the beginning of the piece.
At other places, it is sufficient to enter one of these two. When only the tempo changes, it is enough to only enter a new beats for minute value. When the rhythm, stays the same, but only the measure type changes (quite frequent in modern music), one only needs to enter the “beats per measure” number.
